Warzone 2 Season 2 has introduced Data heist to the battle royale game. It’s a brand new public event brought to the game. In this article, we will be discussing what it is, how it works, and what rewards players can get for doing so in Warzone 2.

The highlight for Warzone 2 Season 2 is undeniably the arrival of Ashika Island as the much sought-after Resurgence mode returns to CoD. Whereas Battle Royale is a last-man-standing format that focuses on Resurgence plays, no respawns, which is similar to the traditional Call of Duty multiplayer with a focus on respawning. Ashika Island aims to bring this back in Warzone 2 Season 2, but it has also brought a new public event in the process called Data Heist.

Warzone 2 Data Heist event details

The Data Heist event is a public event that is currently exclusive to the new Ashika Island Resurgence map and will take place in each match. The developers have confirmed that Data Heist will take place “during the second circle collapse” and will make three uplink stations across the map that is active to players.

Then, players will be required to head to one of them and download the intel buried internally within the device. Players should not that resistance will arrive as AI Shadown Company enemies.

Taking down the soldiers will accelerate the process, but player’s hard work can be undone by opposing enemies being within close proximity to the machine or using the DDOS Field Upgrade.

As with Strongholds and other events of this tupe, there are risk and reward elements for players, but one of the best parts to consider is the goodies they get on completing Data Heist event.

Warzone 2 Data Heist rewards

If players manage to successfully crack a Data Heist event in Warzone 2, then they can be rewarded heavily with items that will help them en route to a Resurgence victory such as cash and Killstreaks.

Moreover, if players have the nerve to complete two or even all three uplink machines, they their rewards will get even better. Here are the rewards:

  • Advanced UAVs
  • Cash
  • Killstreaks
  • Tactical Equipment
  • XP

Warzone 2 Search and Seizure contract

Raven Software brought Search and Seizure contracts exclusively to Ashika Island on February 22.

The developers later clarified that AI combatants only spawn during the Search and Seizure contract and the upcoming Data Heist Public Event. Completing the contract is a multi-step process. Players are required to track down the AI enemies, recover the key, and escape while airstrikes drop down bombs on them as they move towards the drop-off location.

If the vehicle is destroyed during extraction, players won’t be able to finish the contract. For the Data heist Event, awards include Killstreaks, XP, cash, and Advanced UAVs, but the developers did not mention rewards for the new Search and Seizure contract.
