Vash the Stampede, a renowned gunman and pacifist with a bounty on his head, is the protagonist of the popular action manga series TRIGUN by Yasuhiro Nightow. Animation Studio Orange is the creator of TRIGUN STAMPEDE (BEASTARS; Land of the Lustrous). Kenji Muto is the author of the new series (Land of the Lustrous episode director). Other members of the staff include Takehiko Oki, who wrote the original tale, Shin Okashima, Tatsur Inamoto, and Yoshihisa Ueda, who composed the series, Kouji Tajima, a GANTZ:0 character artist, who created the original character designs, and Tatsuya Kato, who wrote the soundtrack (Revue Starlight).
Vash the Stampede is an enthusiastic pacifist who fires guns, so why does he have a $6 million bounty on his head? Meryl Stryfe, a news reporter, and her cynical veteran partner are perplexed by this when they investigate the vigilante and discover someone who despises blood. But what they find as a result of their investigation is horrifying: Millions of Knives, his demonic duplicate.
Having dubbed the English dub role in the 1998 TRIGUN Series, Johnny Yong Bosch returns back to voice it after two decades. California’s Culver City on January 12, 2023 – Johnny Yong Bosch, the actor who originally portrayed Vash the Stampede in the original 1998 TRIGUN, will provide the much-anticipated English voice casting for the character of Vash the Stampede in the sci-fi space western TRIGUN STAMPEDE. Both of these series are based on the manga written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow. For TRIGUN STAMPEDE, Johnny Yong Bosch reclaimed the English voice of Vash the Stampede and uttered the following. I basically started my voice acting career by portraying Vash the Stampede in the original TRIGUN series, so I’m thrilled to get the chance to do it again in this brand-new anime adaptation from Orange. I’m eager to embark on this journey once more with my followers and am hoping that new audiences will find it enjoyable.
As Adam Park, the Black Ranger, Green Zeo, and Green Turbo on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Johnny Yong Bosch made his acting debut before joining TRIGUN. The ADR Director for the English Dub will be fellow voice actor Jeremy Inman, who has also served in that capacity for numerous anime series like Golden Kamuy, Saga of Tanya the Evil, DECA-DENCE, ID: INVADED, and others. Inman commented after giving the dub for TRIGUN STAMPEDE
“TRIGUN is anime royalty and I can’t wait to collaborate with Johnny Yong Bosch in bringing it back to life with this new and fresh interpretation, guaranteeing long-time fans the same gun-slinging action while pulling in new fans as well with fantastic animation, characters, and story,” said Johnny Yong Bosch. In the Japanese language version of TRIGUN STAMPEDE, Vash the Stampede is voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, who is most known for playing Inosuke Hashibira in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Kirito in Sword Art Online.
