Revolution Case was released as a part of the February 10 CS:GO update. The update saw the release of a new weapon case after a wait of nearly seven months. According to TheDandiem, the AWP skin by Jimba for @CSGO is originally a dragon by artist @vexx_art on Twitter. Dundeem claims that “they have already been contacted and are going to file a DMCA.”

The Doodle Lore skin was originally revealed on February 9th as part of the latest CS:GO cosmetic box, the Revolution Case. Doodle Lore was a pink weapon and probably sold for a penny. AWP skins usually sell for a fair amount in the community market. This wouldn’t be the first time a skin has been removed from CS:GO. The M4A4 Howl became one of the most sought after skins in the game after the developers removed it from the cases, leaving many Howl floating in the community market. However, the M4A4 Griffin suffered a similar fate; The skin itself was changed to avoid DMCA.

In today’s update, Valve has replaced AWP Doodle Lore with another skin – AWP Duality. While the official blog update didn’t reveal the exact reason for the change, there were reports of DMCA complaints and copyright infringement for AWP Doodle Lore prior to today’s update. Soon after the update went live it was revealed that popular YouTuber and designer Vexx had already designed something similar several years ago.

Following these allegations, Fornáez responded by saying that he took inspiration from but did not copy the designs. The AWP Doodle Lore maker provided several hand-drawn designs as proof that he didn’t steal the artwork but took inspiration from it.All existing AWP Doodle lore owners will see their skins replaced with the new AWP Doodle lore. Some users have reported being able to view AWP Doodle Lore in the Steam Community Market. However, if you click Inspect in-game on the AWP Doodle Lore Steam Community Marketplace page, it will take you to AWP Duality in-game. This suggests that the item has already changed to inventory, but it may take a few days for the Steam Market to update.
