Are you among those people who have grown sick and tired of their VALORANT display name? Then what’s stopping you from changing it? But fret not, it’s easy to change the display name and tagline once every 30 days.

In 2020, Riot Games went from being the publisher behind the popular game League of Legends to the publisher that brought games like VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, and Wild Rift to the table.

This pushed the game publisher to overhaul its username and account system and bring some major upgrades. Rather than having a separate account for each game, the developer brought in “Riot accounts.” This universal account is all players would require to sign in to any of Riot’s titles, including VALORANT.

However, the process of changing the name in VALORANT isn’t similar to what players must have seen on League of Legends or any other Riot game out there. Players aren’t required to spend in-game currency to makes changes to their display name: The process is completely free of cost. Here’s how to do it

How to change VALORANT display name?

  • Players need to close the VALORANT client if it’s already open
  • Now, they need to log in to their Riot account from the browser
  • Then navigate to the Riot ID tab which is at the top left corner of the page
  • Players need to type in their new name
  • Now, click save changes

Players also have the option to change their tagline, found at the end of their name. It includes a hashtag and a set of numbers or letters, which will remind players of the clan tag in League of Legends. Players can also make changes to their name and tagline once every 30 days with the help of this method.
