A new Call of Duty game comes out every year and attempts to deliver on players’ expectations. That said, fanatics are still coming across rumors of the next title being Modern Warfare II. The first installment of Modern Warfare in 2019 served as a reboot of the Modern Warfare sub-series. The original has a second and third iteration, so it makes sense for another reboot.

The sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was named Modern Warfare 2, so the next rumored game could go in a different with the Roman numeral. Known COD tipster Tom Henderson says it’s confirmed.

Call of Duty 2022 to be named Modern Warfare II

Leaks and speculations have already got players and fans excited. If the 2022 title is named Modern Warfare II and is a sequel to the 2019 installment, fans have a lot to be excited about. The next COD title could be announced any time now, as fans of the series know it will be launched by the end of the year. October and November serve as usual periods for their arrival.

Further leaks have explained how the game will see US special forces taking on drug cartels of Columbia. That piece of information came out in September when Henderson first mentioned the Modern Warfare sequel.

Tom also mentioned that the game will be playable on both generations of consoles. It might be the last Call of Duty title that will come for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In a tweet, he said that it depends on the console market scenario. That could refer to the trouble gamers are facing with their move to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
