The World of Summoning: Manga to end in its next chapter

May 2023’s issue of Kodansha’s Nessatsu Shonen Magazine has announced that Yuki Kodama’s The World of Summoning manga will end with its next chapter in the magazine’s next issue.

The manga launched in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in February 2022. The manga released across the globe in English and French. Kodansha published the manga’s second compiled book volume on January 6.

The battle fantasy is set in present-day Tokyo and merges the themes of summoners and an academy. The story focuses on a character named Tokoyo, a boy who doesn’t know who his parents are and admires summoners. However, there is a secret about the boy that could be world-shaking.

Spinoff manga also received a great response

Kodama released the vampire comedy manga Blood Lad in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in 2009, and concluded in September 2016. The manga’s 17th and final compiled volume shipped in December 2016 in Japan.

In North America, Yen Press publishes the manga and the spinoff manga named Bloody Rat. The manga has also been adapted in a 10-episode TV anime adaptation, which premiered in 2013. Viz Media streamed the series on Hulu as it aired in Japan. It was released on DVD and Blu-ray discs in September 2014.

Kodama and Yukinori Kitajima released the manga Hamatora in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in November 2013. the series ended in December 2014. Shueisha shipped the third and final compiled volume of the manga in February 2015.

The manga was part of a multimedia project that comprised two anime series, two stage plays, and a Nintendo 3DS game that FuRyu developed. Both anime series streamed on Crunchyroll as they aired in Japan. Besides, both anime seasons were released on Blu-ray Discs and DVD by Sentai Filmworks in 2015 and 2016.

The Legendary Hero is Dead spinoff manga delayed indefinitely

According to Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app staff, Subaruichi’s The Legendary Hero is Dead spinoff manga will take an indefinite hiatus. The reason for this indefinite delay is Subaruichi’s health which needs attention and long-term rest.

The staff will announce when the manga will return to serialization on the Manga ONE app. The announcement will also be made on the manga’s official Twitter account.

Subaruichi released the spinoff manga on the Manga ONE app in May 2022. Shogakukan published the manga’s first compiled book volume on March 17. The story continues a year and a half after the main story’s events conclude. Touka and the other main characters, who went back to a normal life, get a new lead to reunite with the dead hero Sion. They form the legendary strongest party again and set a path on an adventure to the land of the gods.

Subaruichi released The Legendary Hero is Dead! Manga in Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday web comic magazine in December 2014, and it ended in December 2020.
