Perhaps Starfield won’t do it for you if you were hoping to experience the silky smooth high FPS gameplay that we’ve grown accustomed to with contemporary releases during the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X era. Given that the majority of high-profile games today have been able to hit that 60 fps threshold, some Xbox players may be disappointed to learn about this framerate cap, and with good reason. The game will still play in full 4K on the Series X and at 1440p on the S, despite the game’s possibly low frame rate.

Some players are miffed by the news that Howard’s words have, as predicted, surfaced online. A toggle, according to some, should be provided so that players can select whether framerate or fidelity should come first. Others simply seize every chance to criticize Microsoft. We won’t truly understand how Starfield feels until it is in players’ hands, even though a capped framerate is a constant source of debate. On September 6, the game will be released for PC and Xbox.
