DeAndre Cortez Way, better known by his stage name Soulja Boy, has been banned from the Twitch TV platform. He claims he was given “no explanation” prior to the bans, and he now intends to sue Twitch over the subject. Here’s all you need to know about the incident.

Soulja Boy has established himself as a popular Twitch streamer. During his streams, he has been known to play games as well as engage in chats with his chat audience. Despite this, Twitch banned his account twice on December 10th. The ban was only temporary, lasting about 5 minutes until Twitch unbanned him. However, his Twitch account was suspended again four hours after the incident, and the second ban is still in effect.

Soulja Boy Seemingly Upset With Twitch

Soulja Boy took to Twitter to express his feelings on the situation. Twitch has been accused of racism by him, and he has threatened to sue them. According to his tweets, he was not provided with any “evidence or reason” for his Twitch ban. He also says it “doesn’t feel right” and that he wants Twitch to restore his account. If this does not happen, Soulja Boy has threatened to sue Twitch for being racist in court with the greatest lawyer he can find.

This isn’t the first time on Twitch that streamers have been banned for unknown reasons. Dr Disrespect was also banned indefinitely from the Twitch streaming platform in the summer of 2020 for unknown reasons. He was one of the most prominent game streams at the time. He has since switched to YouTube, where he has continued his live-streaming career.

The broadcaster moved to Twitter on December 15 to express his dissatisfaction with Twitch, accusing the platform of bigotry. The rapper tweeted, “Who is the CEO of Twitch and where can I locate this n*gga?” “#TwitchisRacist #BoycottTwitch.” “I need the greatest lawyer money can buy,” he said, “dm me I have millions I want to sue Twitch because I feel like they are racist and have banned me without reason. I will not stand for this.”
