The organization has today confirmed the third iteration of the Sentinels VALORANT roster that was visible during this 2023 VCT Americas season. TenZ will replace the in-game leader Dephh in the starting lineup. Following a brief video announcement the day before in which TenZ declared he was “back,” the organization confirmed the status of the roster today.

Based on recent ranked games where Zekken filled Dephh’s usual roles, many fans assumed that Dephh would be replaced by the returning TenZ. George Geddes, a VALORANT reporter, also covered the TenZ-for-Dephh swap. Sentinels confirm the most recent version of the VALORANT roster:

The roles for the most recent Sentinels roster are starting to take shape with TenZ officially joining and Dephh officially leaving. TenZ will probably take over as the main duelist, with Marved handling smokes/controller, pANcada handling sentinel, zekken handling flex, and Sacy handling initiator and, most likely, the game’s leadership position.

However, there are many reasons why organizations have decided to revamp their roster as a result of the new partnership program. Sentinels are among the 10 teams selected as partners from the VCT Americas league. To compete with other teams, the North American team wants to assemble a potent Valorant roster.

However, the lofty goals caused legendary players Dapr and ShahZam to leave the roster. Both athletes are currently looking to join new teams. Two inactive athletes, SicK and Zombs, are currently unknown. Since the coaches have suggested starting over with the roster, their return is extremely unlikely.

Sentinels are the only team in the VCT Americas to change their roster this season, and they are the only team to do so twice, aside from Evil Geniuses and MIBR. Following the departure of previous head coach Syyko in the middle of the split, new coach Kaplan first declared that TenZ would take a break to recover from an illness and injury before declaring a week later that Marved would replace TenZ in the starting lineup for the remainder of the split.

The team’s star has returned to the starting lineup ahead of the final two games of the split because TenZ seems at ease competing once more and Sentinels’ chances of making the playoffs are slim. Sentinels must win these games against KRÜ Esports and FURIA, and EG and 100 Thieves must lose their ensuing two matches for TenZ and company to advance to the playoffs.
