Players can play with their friends on any platform as the game supports cross-play by default. But if this option gets disabled unintentionally, it’s easy to get back to cross-platform action. The game supports cross-play on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo consoles. PC players can also enjoy Rocket League with friends on consoles through Steam or the Epic Games store.

If you are unable to play Rocket League with a friend on a different console, then you will have to enable cross-platform play in the menu. Start by launching the game and navigating to the settings in the main menu.

Once you are able to find the settings, search for the Gameplay option and check the Cross-Platform Play box. This will allow for cross-play for every platform and will randomly matchmake with other platforms online.

Players can also take part in public matches with their mates on other platforms or in private lobbies. To become a part of a private lobby with friends, select Play for the main menu, then Private Match, and either create or join a lobby. This will enable friends on all platforms to join the match.

Moreover, Rocket League Sideswipe, the mobile version of the car-based soccer game, is now available for download on Android and iOS devices. The game started rolling out on November 15 in Oceania, but can now be downloaded across the globe. The game is a “pre-season” mode ahead of Season 1’s kickoff at a later date that is yet to be announced.
