Rocket League Gridiron mode made its comeback for another Super Bowl week and gave players a chance to earn a pair of limited-time NFL-themed cosmetics, such as rare NFL wheels for their Battle-Car. Here’s everything players need to know about the Gridiron challenges available during the Rocket League Super Bowl 56 event.

Rocket League Gridiron rules

This mode incorporates American football into the array of game modes in the game, joining Hoops and Rocket League’s “SocCar” mode. In Gridiron, games are played in 4v4 and the standard Rocket League ball gets replaced with an American football. Besides, the physics of the ball also changes due to its shape.

Touching the ball attaches it to the roof of the player’s car, giving them possession, and they can pass it to teammates by performing a dodge. If a goal is scored while the ball is attached to a player’s roof, it counts as a touchdown for many points.

If players score a loose ball, it counts as a field goal for 3 points. The game also has a sideline boundary that players can’t cross, unlike in other modes of the game which exist in a bubble.

Rocket League Gridiron challenges

There were 3 Gridiron challenges available in-game. One of them was repeatable as many times as players wished until the end of the event, while others are finite and gave players exclusive Super Bowl cosmetics. The rewards include a new player title alongside some new wheels for the cars.

  • Players had to score a touchdown or field goal in 5 games — Field General player title
  • Players needed to score a touchdown or field goal and demo a player in the same game- NFL wheels
  • Players needed to win 10 online matches (repeatable during event) – 20,000 XP

Players who managed to win these rewards should note that these items go well with the abundant items from the NFL Fan Pass, which debuted in September 2021 and has been getting updates all season regardless of when players purchased the pass.
