Riot designer TheTruexy shared important combat item changes on his personal Twitter that will take place on league PBE. While tuning has not yet been defined, he also mentions the goals and reasons behind these temporary changes.

Fighters have become particularly more dominant in the game since the durability patch, due to their high damage output and ability to sustain damage. Despite Royte’s efforts to balance the power of combat champions and their respective objects through nerfs, they continue to have some of the highest win rates in the game. Fighter Item Change League will be available on PBE :

Fighter champions, such as Fiora and Atrox, are a strong choice for players due to their high damage and durability, although their limited range may be a drawback in some situations. Here is a total of eight items set to receive changes, which you can find below:

  • Eclipse
  • Syzygy (Ornn upgrade of Eclipse)
  • Goredrinker
  • Ravenous Hydra
  • Maw of Malmortius
  • Death’s Dance
  • Blade of the Ruined King
  • Black Cleaver

Knowing that these items will have a major impact on the Bruser class, they will try to accommodate weaker champions or those who lose the most with less capacity haste or maintain. If you want to check for number changes, check out TheTruexy’s Tweet for all state changes:

The main goal that the riot designer mentions is to deal with ‘fighter  frustation’. The class has recently become difficult to deal with, with a lot of damage, maintenance and maneuverability. Planned changes seek to tackle this issue, starting with the constant. The balance team is moving Omnivamp to the lifestyle and compensating when needed, explaining how staying on spelling leads to spikey healing compared to staying on auto attacks (which grow linearly and only increases with crit strikes).

The haste in capacity is also decreasing. According to TheTruexy , having too high this figure closes the windows of counterplay against fighters and they’ll lower it on board. For that reason, they’re looking for Nerf Death Dance and Mav of Malmortius to make them less of “all-in-one” items. To create a trade-off for these nerfs, Riot is increasing the losses it receives with these items. While this will do more harm to the champion, he feels that “slowing down Omnivamp snowballing and the ability to get faster spikes is a good direction.”
