Krafton, the developer of PUBG Mobile, is reportedly working on a new game called PUBG 2. Krafton has begun working on the game’s development plans, according to a tipster who goes by the Twitter handle PlayerIGN (@PlayerIGN), and the game may run on both PC and gaming consoles. According to the source, the company has begun hiring art directors and technical animators for an ‘unannounced project,’ which could be a reference to PUBG 2. The company previously announced plans to release PUBG: New State, but it is only intended for smartphones.

The unannounced PUBG 2 game is said to be based on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5, as Krafton previously discussed a plan for the PUBG 2 project’s development on the platform.

The current version of PUBG is built on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4, which was released worldwide in 2017. PUBG 2 will almost certainly launch as a PC game, with a mobile version following later. Unfortunately, not much is known about the title at this time.

WHAT IS PUBG: NEW STATE AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM PUBG?

Last month, the gaming behemoth made its PUBG: New State game available for pre-order on Google Play and Apple App Store in India. The pre-booking period in India began nearly seven months after the global pre-booking period began in February 2021.

PUBG: New State’s official release date has not yet been confirmed, but the game is expected to be released this month. According to the game’s app store listing, New State is set in 2051 and takes place on a new map called Troi.

The game is expected to feature advanced graphics and futuristic weapons such as deployable combat shields, among other things.

The New State will also include in-game weapon customization, allowing players to change their weapons during a match. PUBG Mobile India, which was banned in the country last year, was relaunched earlier this year as Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
