With the first update patch of 2022 in Pokemon UNITE, TiMi Studios has made a lot of adjustments. Not only do we receive a new defense Pokemon named Trevenant, but there are also a number of other Pokemon reworks and tweaks. A new Pokemon UNITE Championship Series mode has also been created, which is better suited for conducting esports competitions. Here’s all you need to know about the latest patch, version 1.4.12.

Trevenant is a Grass/Ghost-type Pokemon, and it will be the 30th Pokemon added to Pokemon UNITE overall. Trainers can purchase the Trevenant License in the Unite Battle Committee Shop for 8000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems as a new defense Pokemon. The talents that this Pokemon can utilize in the game are listed below.

  • UNITE Move: Forest’s Curse
    • It will deal Area of Effect damage and also be a new hindrance to all the enemy Pokemons in an area.
  • Other moves:
    • Horn Leech: Trevenant heals, dashes, and pushes enemy Pokemons in its way shoveling them in its dashing direction.
    • Wood Hammer: Trevenant creates a big hammer to hit his opponents and stun them.
    • Spirit Chain: This move allows Trevenant to catch enemies in an aura that reduces enemies HP considerably at the cost of some portion of Trevenant HP. Since this is the first move of its type in the game, the actual mechanism and description might change.

Pokemon UNITE Championship Series Mode

In Pokemon UNITE, a new Championship Series mode has been incorporated into the game, allowing tournaments to run more efficiently. It can host a totally private lobby in which the host can increase the level of all Held Items and unlock all Held Items, Battle Items, and Unite Licenses. This ensures that all players competing in the Championship Series mode have the same resources available to them. These elements could pave the way for a robust competitive scene to emerge in the following months.
