The fifth week of the VCT 2023: Pacific League brought a lot of anticipation for Global Esports (GE) following their dominant win against Talon Esports. The hopes were high, but unfortunately, Paper Rex (PPRX) snatched away their victory by making an incredible comeback to beat GE 2-1. Despite a strong start from Global Esports, Paper Rex reacted quickly and shut them down before they could seize their momentum and secure the series. The exceptional performance of Ilya “Something” Petrov was the driving force behind Paper Rex’s success in gaining the upper hand on multiple occasions. Petrov’s impressive maneuvers on Jett, especially on Pearl, which was the deciding map, left Global Esports at a loss as he single-handedly dominated the game. Split Match: PPRX Overpowers GE with a 13-6 Win

In the second map, Split, which was GE’s map pick, PPRX showed its mettle by launching a heavy attack that GE was unable to contain. PPRX’s senior members, Aaron “Mindfreak” Leonhart and Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee, took charge and led their team to a 13-6 victory.

With this win, PPRX secured its third victory of the regular season and rose to the fourth spot on the overall points table. On the other hand, GE suffered its fourth loss of the league and remained in the eighth position on the overall points table.
