Overwatch 2 free to play: Is the game going to be free to play?

Overwatch becoming successful wasn’t surprising as the game itself was crafted for people who love shooting games. The game is filled with colorful characters, good graphics, and addictive gameplay. It has become one o the most played competitive shooters in history and it’s a title every gamer should play at least once. It checks all the boxes, basically, and it’s a game that would fit the free-to-play model nicely. But is Overwatch free to play?

Although Overwatch’s popularity might not be the same as before, it is still one of the popular games out there, and one you might think is free-to-play when comparing it with titles such as Apex Legends, Valorant, and Warzone. However, the game is not free-to-play, but it does get featured on free-to-play weekends on occasion.

Players can buy a key online through a Game Key retailer at heavy discounts, or they can pick it up through Blizzard’s BattleNet game launcher on sales a lot of time. Overwatch is an old game, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not worth playing, as it gets updated frequently.

If players are looking for Overwatch on consoles too, they’ll find it’s on sale on both PlayStation Store and Xbox Store as well. The Nintendo Switch version of the game is newer and on sale less frequently, but it’s a lot less than the average first-party Nintendo Switch party.

With Overwatch 2 in the offing and reports that the first installment is going to get all of the new version’s additional multilayer content without any additional cost, it’s worth buying Overwatch while it’s still available. It might not be free-to-play, but it sure is worth the money you pay.
