Overwatch 2’s PvP testing is providing a lot of fun to a lot of players across the globe. While the beta version of the upcoming sequel has many notable changes, it also has features that made the first game so likable.

One of the most vital things that players can do in-game is strike their enemies with the ultimate attack. While countering them is possible, a Soldier 76 player might have found a great way to avoid Cassidy’s ultimate.

Pushups with Soldier 76 to counter Cassidy

There are different ways to counter the ultimates in the game. The interesting fact about Soldier 76’s reversal is that it’s an emote. This was demonstrated by Reddit user u/FatCosmos, who uploaded a clip of their perfect counter to Cassidy’s ultimate Deadeye.

Cassidy’s ultimate needs the character to lock on to the enemies. This locking mechanism depends on the remaining health of each enemy. Cassidy also needs a clear line of sight to lock on to the opponents. All Soldier 76 required was to perform the pushup emote.

Doing so helped the player escape the locking mechanism. This allowed him to stay alive despite their teammates falling prey to the ultimate. Certain characters might have a dedicated countering mechanism, but an emote might be the best counter players can do.

Blizzard launched the beta test version on April 26. The most anticipated feature of the upcoming game is the 5v5 mode, a major alteration from the 6v6 mode in the past. Moreover, players are also enjoying the new maps. There’s a new hero called Sojourn that is available to all the players. Older heroes such as Orisa and Doomfist have also been reworked, and the developers have plans to add more to the PvP testing in the upcoming days.
