Overwatch 2 community is always eagerly waiting and excited for new hero reveals, and Ramattra’s announcement was no exception. The hero was revealed during the Overwatch League Grand Finals and is the game’s latest playable character.

The powerful Omnic’s tank kit allows players to switch between two forms called Omnic form and Nemesis form, which the devs believe could bring more depth to the hero’s gameplay.

While fans are excited about the new hero, they are also concerned due to the way developer Blizzard Entertainment made players unlock Kiriko, Overwatch 2’s first new hero. While Ramattra’s unlock process will be the same as Kiriko’s, there is one important aspect that sets it apart, and players should be aware of it. In this article, we will discuss how to unlock Ramatrra in Overwatch 2.

How to unlock Ramattra in Overwatch 2?

Ramattra is available for players since season two launched on December 6. Just like Kiriko in season one, players will have to once again buy the premium battle pass or level up the free battle pass to unlock the new hero. Unlike Kiriko, Ramattra is unlocked at tier 45 of the free battle pass, 10 tiers before his precursor.

The Overwatch 2 devs revealed in a Q&A that they have been in talks about the hero unlock methods and how they can organize them better for players. This adjustment is likely based on the feedback taken from the community from Kiriko’s launch, which many players believed needed too much grinding to unlock.

The premium battle pass will set players back by $10 in season two. Buying the premium pass allows for a new cosmetic on each tier, up to 80 tiers, and instantly offers access to Ramattra.

If players choose to stay on the free battle pass, they will be required to grind up to tier 45 to get access to Ramattra for free. Once season two concludes, the hero will likely be unlockable through Catch Up Hero challenges or by buying the hero in the shop with Overwatch coins, the game’s premium currency. The new hero is live now alongside Overwatch 2’s second season.
