Select players are gaining access to the new Overwatch 2 beta. Lucky players who got to access the beta are sometimes coming across unexpected server error.

How to fix the unexpected server error

Overwatch recently surged in popularity and players have started following it on Twitch and YouTube. The unexpected server error is due to system overload in the game. Additionally, players have also been able to win beta tickets enabling them to access the beta and players who already have the access to the game.

Players earned this by watching at least one hour of the live streams available on Twitch. People who won beta tickets could then log into the game.

Unexpected server error in Overwatch 2

With the surge in the number of players coming into Overwatch 2 to get their shot at getting access to the beta, the system is sharing a heavy load. Because of this, some players could get an error that tells them there is an unexpected server error on trying to join a game. This can hinder a player’s ability to play the game, as it will not let them join a game when the player receives this error.

How players can fix the unexpected server error

Since this is a server-side error, players should try joining another game and hope they do not get the same error message once again. While resetting the game could fix the error, but that is simply due to the time taken to retry the queue again. Due of this, the best bet for players currently is to be patient and try again while the server’s issues are worked out during the beta.
