Sojourn has been one of the most divisive heroes in Overwatch 2. If you play Sojourn, the last thing you want is for your best character to get stomped into oblivion, but if you’re playing against him, you’re going to have a tough game. This paired with Pocket Mercy – which keeps Sojourn alive and well – often makes victory nearly impossible. The combo itself is relatively simple: Mercy’s damage boost, paired with Sojourn’s super-powered ultimate, can tear enemy teams to shreds.  If you need more information about Overwatch 2 Devs are Working on Nerfing One of Game’s Most OP Duos then read carefully and don’t forget to share with your friends.

Overwatch 2 Devs are Working on Nerfing One of Game’s Most OP Duos:

Mercy’s ability to quickly switch to healing forces the opposing team to focus on the healer, which gives the rest of her team plenty of time to focus and kill opponents targeting the support hero. The Overwatch 2 developers have taken note of this dynamic duo and their dominance in casual and ranked queues so far in 2023, and have confirmed that they are taking steps to tone down the combo’s strength.

In response to complaints about the partnership, Jody Grace McCaughan, community manager for OW2, shared that a change is on the horizon: “[We] know it feels bad now, especially when you see it so often in your games. are,” Dev said about the pair. “We’ll have more to share soon, but changes are coming!”

Per Overbuff.com (which, we’d add, Blizzard is struggling to update the numbers following the API change), Sojourn appears in 2.3 percent of all games. Mercy, which is also more common on its own, is played 6.61 percent of the time. As mentioned, however, Blizzard doesn’t share any official statistics.

Sojourn has suffered a lot of one-upmanship nerfs lately. The Damage hero, who really only joined the roster when the sequel released last October, has been at the zenith of the meta for a while now, and despite several setbacks, remains pretty strong.

However, Mercy hasn’t received any changes since her Overwatch 2 debut, with the support hero basically staying the same. What changes happen for Mercy—and her DPS partner—still remains to be seen, though OW2 players will be hoping their new-found sequel men survive the nerfs. The devs weren’t clear if it would be both OW2 heroes on the operating table, or if it would be just one, in particular, suffering from the planned nerfs. We’ll have to wait and see.
