Vinay “Hades” Rao, the Head of Esports at Orangutan Gaming, has disclosed the organization’s future plans for Free Fire esports. He has revealed that the game’s return to India is unlikely as Garena, the developer of Free Fire, has not responded to their attempts to contact them. While Orangutan Gaming does not intend to disband its Free Fire lineup, it sees no point in continuing its operations in India and is contemplating relocating to another region. Hades has not disclosed the names of the two regions the organization is considering. It is evident that the organization is exploring its options and seeking new opportunities to expand its Free Fire esports operations beyond India. Orangutan Gaming is thinking about moving to a new location.

According to Hades Free Fire will not return to India

During a recent livestream, a viewer asked Hades, a representative of Orangutan Gaming, about the future of the organization’s Free Fire roster in the event that the game does not return to India for another year. In response, Hades stated that it was unlikely that Free Fire would return to India and that the organization had been unsuccessful in contacting the game’s developer, Garena, for updates on the situation.

Despite the organization’s and players’ efforts to reach out to various people, including their contacts, there has been no update on the game’s return. Hades expressed disappointment in Garena’s lack of action, stating that it appeared that the developer was not attempting to revive the game in India and that they may be more focused on developing Free Fire MAX rather than esports in the country.

Hades’ statement indicates a grim future for Free Fire in India, as it seems that the game’s developer is not prioritizing the revival of the game in the region. Orangutan Gaming’s Free Fire roster may be disbanded if the game does not return, as it may not be financially viable to maintain a team for a game that is no longer available in the country. It remains to be seen whether Garena will take action to revive the game in India or if Orangutan Gaming will need to shift its focus to other games.

For Free Fire, Orangutan Gaming is switching the location

During a livestream, Hades, a representative of Orangutan Gaming, stated that the organization was considering changing the region of its Free Fire esports operations, as it did not see any point in continuing with the game in India due to the ban. However, the organization did not want to abandon Free Fire altogether and was looking to have its players represent them in other regions. Hades revealed that the organization was considering two regions, but did not disclose their names. One region allowed three players to play, while the other allowed only two players. Although the second region was better, the organization was still considering which region to choose based on the number of players they could field.

When a viewer asked why the organization was only allowed to field two or three players, Hades explained that it was due to the regulations in the region. He mentioned that the region’s country did not allow a certain number of players to participate in the game, and this was the reason why the organization had to field only two or three players. With Free Fire being banned in India for over a year and no updates from officials regarding its return, Orangutan Gaming and other organizations have had to make difficult decisions about their esports operations. For Orangutan Gaming, changing the region was the best option to keep their Free Fire roster intact and continue their esports operations.

It remains to be seen which region Orangutan Gaming will choose and how the players will adapt to the new playing environment. Changing the region will present new challenges for the team, such as dealing with new opponents and playing styles, and they will have to work hard to maintain their competitive edge.

Overall, Hades’ statement reveals the impact of the ban on Free Fire in India on the esports scene and the difficult decisions that organizations like Orangutan Gaming have had to make. It highlights the need for game developers and officials to work together to find solutions that allow players and organizations to continue their esports operations, even in the face of regulatory challenges.
