Following the trend of Snap seasons being centered around the hottest Marvel product of the month, June is all about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, with a battle pass and new cards featuring a number of its characters debuting on June 5.
Ben Brode, chief development officer for Second Dinner, made a formal announcement about the June season of Marvel Snap today in a developer video. Following the trend of Snap seasons being centered around the hottest Marvel product of the month, June is all about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, with a battle pass and new cards featuring a number of its characters debuting on June 5.
If you need more information about Next Monday, a new season of Marvel Snap with The Spider-Verse begins, then read carefully and don’t forget to share with your friends.
It’s fantastic news for supporters of that archetype, which has been suffering in the meta for a while, that the extra cards arriving throughout the season are all from the Spider-Verse and are mostly focused around the Move ability.
For your $9.99, the Season Pass will also include the standard variations and other bonuses. After the event begins, Spider-Ham, Spider-Man 2099, and Silk will arrive on a weekly basis. They’ll be featured in the Token Shop for a week each and added to the Series 4 and Series 5 pools.
Ghost-Spider, commonly known as Spider-Gwen from the Spider-Verse movies, is the battle pass for this season. She has two costs and three powers, and her On Reveal ability allows you to move the last card you played to where she is.
Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Ham are two additional seasonal cards that will make their debut in Series Four. This is the first time brand-new cards have debuted alongside Series Four. Silk, the last card, will debut in Series 5.
Spider-Ham is particularly entertaining because the pig, depending on what your opponent is playing, has the capacity to “transform the highest-cost card in your opponent’s hand into a pig, keeping its power and cost,” according to his On Reveal ability.
Spider-Versus will also add two new locations to the game, including Aunt May’s (“The first card you play here gets +3 Power and moves”) and Great Web (“After each turn, move one card to the Web for a random player”).
In the video, Brode made it known that the upcoming season will include the eagerly awaited Conquest Mode, “a brand-new, ultra-competitive mode.” Similar gameplay concepts to the friendly Battle Mode will be included in Conquest, but it will also have advancement and incentives for winning consecutive games. Players can utilize the mode’s currency to acquire items like an Infinity boundary avatar. On June 5, at 10 p.m. CT, Marvel Snap’s Spider-Versus season will debut.
