From March 2017 until November 2022, a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui was published weekly in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. As of January 2023, chapters were compiled into 31 tankbon volumes. The anime television adaption, which ran from April to September 2021, was made by Liden Films. The anime series’ second season debuted in January 2023. In July 2021, a live-action film adaption will be released, and a sequel will follow in 2023.

What Tokyo Revengers is about

Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old man going through a difficult moment in his life, is the subject of this television series. He is unemployed and doesn’t live like a respectable grownup. He is unknown, and like the rest of his life, his room is disorganized. Then, things changed, leaving him with no chance of a better future and turning him into the pitiful guy he is now. He discovers one day that the legendary Tokyo Manji Gang was responsible for the murder of his middle school love. Takemichi passes away soon after and then mysteriously travels back in time to the same day 12 years prior.

His little brother Hinata turns out to be the key that enables him to move back and forth in time. He still has his friends and his love in this universe. He plans to work with Hinata and use this power to save his girlfriend. In episode 10, we see that Takemichi reconciles with Hinata after realizing that Mikey and Draken visited the chapel as a result of his separation from her. Mikey talks about Shinichiro and their similarities when introducing him to Takemichi. Draken and Mitsuya reminisce about their first encounter.

Recap of Previous Chapter

In the first scene of the episode, Takemichi meets Hina and is speechless. We observe how she came to realize that her father had asked her to break up with her lover because he was a hoodlum. Though she recognizes her father’s worries, she still has affection for Takemichi. With the knowledge that her father will always be there for her, Takemichi’s resolution leads her to debate with him and praise him as a person in real life. She visits the shrine after breaking up with him, where she unintentionally runs across Emma.

Emma phones Draken and Mikey and requests that they send Takemichi to Hina’s home while Hina describes her issues to Emma. Mikey and Draken were able to face Taiju at the church as a result. Takemichi freely acknowledges that he is a bad influence, but he is committed to keeping Hina safe no matter what. Mikey kidnaps Takemichi and takes him on a drive after they reconcile.

Some fascinating information was revealed throughout the episode. Shinichiro, Mikey’s older brother, was previously known to us, but we never really got to know him well. In this scenario, Mikey acknowledges that Takemichi resembles his older brother, who, while being the boss of his gang, is weaker than all the other members.
