New photos from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have just been published in Empire Magazine. The movie’s antagonist, The Spot, is causing quite a bit of difficulty for our heroes. Despite his best efforts, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy’s Ghost Spider are unable to contain the supervillain. Fans of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse are incredibly interested to see what the sequel will bring them because of the animation in this single frame of the film. They had been anticipating Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse for a while now, after all. What Miles Morales will face in the follow-up to his wildly successful big-screen debut is as follows: “After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s resident Spider-Man is launched across the Multiverse, where he comes across a group of Spider-People tasked with safeguarding the Multiverse’s very existence. Yet as the heroes debate on how to deal with a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders. He will soon need to redefine what it means to be a hero in order to save the people he loves the most.

Before Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse hits theatres next year, Across the Spider-Verse is just the second installment. When it was announced years ago, the decision sent shockwaves through the fandom. Ere Santos, a senior character animator, claims that everything that happened was for the best, though. In essence, Across the Spider-scope Verse grew to such an enormous size that splitting it into two sequels rather than one was a logical choice. Take a look at what he stated.

“Wait, so this is what a two-and-a-half-hour movie is?” Reporters questioned. Santos started. “They’re telling a tremendously big story, I think. And with all the arcs that they wanted to put in, we were simply thinking this was going to be an intense, short, fast-paced, high-energy movie. Yet it would have been beneficial. It would have been similar to what they were proposing for Endgame-style content. Like it was enormous. And what they have planned remains enormous.
