Fans appear to be solely talking about Chainsaw Man’s newest Devil, despite the fact that Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga series’ most recent issue featured a lot of interesting content. The newest member of the supernatural ensemble of the story made his or her entrance in the issue’s last pages after Famine Devil Fami verified that the character’s name was a Primal Fear. Therefore, the main topic of discussion among fans has been whether or not Chainsaw Man’s newest Devil is the Death Devil. Although many fans previously believed Hirofumi Yoshida to be the fourth and last Horsemen Devils member, public opinion has since changed in the wake of the most recent issue.

Recap Of The Latest Chapter

Beginning with a dialogue between Hirofumi Yoshida and Famine Demon Fami, chapter 122 of Chainsaw Man reveals that the former is aware of the identity of the latter. Yoshida then changed the topic to a prophecy by Nostradamus that a “great monarch of terror will descend” in the seventh month of 1999. Public Safety is treating it seriously, he claims, despite society’s perception that it is only a rumor. They had 30 convicts contract with the Future Satan and ask when they would die, with 23 of the 30 beings told in July of 1999. Yoshida then accuses Fami of being involved in something, revealing that Public Safety believes it has to do with Nostradamus’ forecasts. Then he threatens to start treating her like the devil if she doesn’t start talking.

Yoshida remains silent as Fami asks if the other seven also claimed they would pass away this week. Fami goes on to claim that forty seconds previously, a Demon with the name of a Primal Fear emerged at some nearby flats and that they’re the first of those who’ll “shepherd the globe to the ultimate fear.” The focus switches to the flats in chapter 122 just before she is ready to utter the Devil’s name. A couple was seen talking about how they would use the money from the boyfriend’s new job promotion. The two jumped off their balcony after he suggested a car but was shot down before recommending that they just die. Yoru, who is positioned below, observes numerous others doing this as he gets ready to battle. She understands she can’t win this battle and flees as a headless humanoid body rises from the mound of dead.

Theories behind New Devil?

Many fans are convinced that Chainsaw Man’s newest Devil is the Death Devil, but there are a few crucial bits of information that point in a different direction. Similar to the last figure, there isn’t much proof that this new one is the Death Devil other than the fact that he makes people die. In fact, the issue’s depiction of human death practically militates against the Death Demon idea. The human suicides in chapters 121 and 122 stood out to readers right away because they appeared to be under control, or at the very least, subtly affected. It’s logical to assume that since Control Devil and Death Devil are two separate entities, their abilities would primarily conflict. So, it seems improbable that this is the Death Devil.

Yoru is also frightened by Chainsaw Man’s newest Devil to the point where she feels the need to flee and withdraw out of terror, something no other Horseman Devil has ever made her feel the need to do. Yoru, however, didn’t recognize Nayuta as the Control Demon, but Fami does. Nevertheless, Yoru’s concern over Fami’s presence was not quite as intense as what was evident here.

Moreover, this Devil is designated as one who embodies Primal Fear, a category of demons that have previously been distinguished from the Horsemen Devils. It doesn’t make sense to classify the Death Devil as such as it is the last of the Horsemen to appear in the series, but Fami emphasizes that this Devil is the first indication of things to come.

As the Death Devil of the Horsemen Devils is not Chainsaw Man’s newest Devil, it appears to be far more plausible than not. It’s still unclear what fear this Devil represents, but it’s almost certainly not a fear of dying.
