Netflix explains the anime’s plot as follows:

Time has marched on since the events of Ultraman, and the legacy of the “Giant of Light” has become little more than a distant memory. However, a new hero has emerged to take up the mantle of Ultraman and defend the Earth from the ever-present threat of giant alien invaders. This hero is none other than Shinjiro, the son of Shin Hayata, who discovers that he possesses the same powers as his father. With the knowledge that his father was once Ultraman, Shinjiro takes up the cause and fights back against the forces of evil, proving himself to be a worthy successor to the legendary hero of old. Together with his comrades, Shinjiro is ready to face any challenge that comes his way and protect the world from destruction.

The creative team behind the hit anime series Ultraman has returned for the highly anticipated second season. Kenji Kamiyama, Shinji Aramaki, Production I.G, and Sola Digital Arts are all back to continue their work on the series, ensuring that the new season will be just as visually stunning and action-packed as the first.

While there was a change in the casting for one of the new characters, with Tatsuhisa Suzuki stepping down from the role of Ultraman Taro due to his hiatus from the entertainment industry, the show’s production team quickly found a replacement in Tomoaki Maeno, who will be taking on the role instead. Fans of the series can rest assured that the second season is in good hands and will deliver all the thrilling heroics and heart-pumping excitement that they have come to expect from Ultraman.
