Call of Duty’s Gun Game mode has been a fan favorite. Now, the mode has been leaked to come on Modern Warfare 2, but players might not be aware that they can already play it in MW2. In this article, we will be discussing exactly that.

Gun Game is a very popular mode in the Call of Duty franchise. The game mode was first introduced in 2010’s Black Ops. The mode involves players dropping into a free-for-all match, with every kill giving players a new weapon. The first player to get a kill with all the twenty weapons featured in the mode wins the match.

Modern Warfare 2 is yet to have Gun Game in multiplayer mode. However, along with the game’s Gunfight, data miners recently uncovered it, hinting at an imminent launch of the mode. Before that, there is a way to enjoy the mode ahead of its official release.

How to play Gun Game in Modern Warfare 2

Sadly, players won’t be able to enjoy it in multiplayer mode, but there is a way to set up Gun Game in a Private Match. In order to do that, players will need to follow these simple steps:

  • First players need to launch a Private Match in Modern Warfare 2.
  • Now, select ‘Free For All’ as the mode.
  • Then, players need to go to ‘Game Setup’.
  • Now, scroll to the ‘Game Rules’ tab.
  • And, now go to ‘Gameplay’.
  • Then, toggle the ‘Gun Game Weapons Swaps’ setting to Kills.
  • Now, players need to return to their game.

By enabling these settings every kill in their Private Match will cycle players onto another weapon. Sadly, there’s no way for players to set a list of weapons. This results in players cycling through weapons in random order and won’t necessarily end matches with a kill using a tough-to-use weapon.

Despite this, there are several ways players can enjoy the mode with the settings above enabled. It should be enough to keep MW2 players ticking over until Gun Game officially hits the game.
