The first pre-release for Minecraft Java 1.19.4 has arrived, bringing with it a new high contrast accessibility setting, a new damage and entity-type tag, and more! It also offers a new crafting recipe for the brush item introduced in snapshot 23w07a, updated accessibility options for menus, and an adjusted world building menu. This new release also addresses roughly 50 bugs, and includes additional performance changes and changes to resource packs, tags, and sub-commands.
Where the Snapshot updates were mostly focused on introducing new features from The Wild Update, however, these pre-release updates will be centered around important bug fixes and technical aspects as we approach the final stages of the launch. These new pre-releases will also have a more sporadic launch schedule, as opposed to the previous snapshot update schedule that launched on Wednesdays.
These new pre-release updates are only available for Minecraft: Java Edition at this time. To install them, open the Minecraft launcher and enable Snapshots in the Installation tab. Mojang warns that these updates, like snapshot updates, can corrupt your world and save files – so be sure to back them up just to be safe!.

Pre-releases are available for Minecraft: Java Edition. To install the pre-release, open the Minecraft launcher and enable snapshots in the “Installation” tab.
