As part of League of legend Patch 13.3, Riot Phreak, a former shout caster and current game designer, revealed a number of improvements to support champions. Let’s examine the causes of these adjustments and the potential consequences of another Meta shift. League of legend Patch 13.3 will bring about significant support modifications

Support champion adjustments and Radiant Virtue upgrades will be included in League of legend Patch 13.3

The main justifications for these changes were outlined in a tweet from Riot Phreak on January 29 along with a stolen League of Legends source code and anti-cheat tool. This will probably be the next significant meta-shift that we may see this season, following the modifications to ADC and fighter item changes in the most recent patch 13.1b.

The current stale bot lane Meta in competitive play, according to Riot Phreak, was the inspiration for these tentative adjustments. The Meta is still largely dominated by enchanters and ranged supports, to the point where ADCs are chosen as supports, as Keria did in the LCK, in spite of the preseason modifications. The balancing team is planning to make changes to the majority of the champions who back-tanks and engage in an effort to buck this trend.

Based on the revisions, this class of support champions should benefit from the good boosts and modifications. Thanks to decreased mana costs and cooldowns, as well as greater scaling with rising ratios, they will especially have the opportunity to play more aggressively. They could be able to make a significant comeback to the Meta if combined with the Radiant Virtue changes. Engagers should be able to rediscover their own dimension now that ADCs have faster spikes as a result of the item changes.

In spite of this, Riot has always had trouble balancing champions who participate in melee combat. In professional play, melee supports were far too prevalent before enchanters became prominent in season 12. We’ll have to wait and see if the League Patch 13.3 adjustments to the support champions will immediately increase their appeal. Watch out for Alistar and Thresh among these changes because they are the most intriguing.
