As part of League of legend Patch 13.3, Riot Phreak, a former shout caster and current game designer, revealed a number of improvements to support champions. Based on the revisions, this class of support champions should benefit from the good boosts and modifications. Thanks to decreased mana costs and cooldowns, as well as greater scaling with rising ratios, they will especially have the opportunity to play more aggressively. They could be able to make a significant comeback to the Meta if combined with the Radiant Virtue changes. Engagers should be able to rediscover their own dimension now that ADCs have faster spikes as a result of the item changes.
In spite of this, Riot has always had trouble balancing champions who participate in melee combat. In professional play, melee supports were far too prevalent before enchanters became prominent in season 12.
