Fans of Kōsuke Satake’s The Witch and the Beast (Majo to Yajū) manga will have to wait a little longer for its return as the manga continues its hiatus. According to the latest announcement from Kodansha’s Monthly Young Magazine, Satake is still recovering from poor health. While the magazine did not disclose any specific details about the creator’s condition, they promised to inform readers of the manga’s return at a later date.
The Witch and the Beast is a thrilling manga that follows Guideau, a young girl with feral characteristics, and Ashaf, a mysterious man with a coffin strapped to his back. The two arrive in a town under the control of a witch who has brainwashed the townsfolk into believing she’s their saviour. However, Guideau and Ashaf see through her facade and aim to settle their scores with her, even if it means eliminating anyone who gets in their way.
The series first debuted in November 2016 in Kodansha’s Young Magazine the 3rd, before moving to Monthly Young Magazine in 2021. Since then, it has become a fan-favourite and gained a massive following worldwide. Kodansha USA Publishing is responsible for the English translation of the manga, which is currently up to its 10th volume.
Despite the manga being on hiatus, the story continues to captivate fans, and the English version of the 10th volume was released by Kodansha USA Publishing on February 28. The 11th volume is also scheduled to release on October 10.
