Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 177 marks the start of what is likely to be the Sendai Colony’s final battle. Okkotsu Yuta, Ishigori Ryu, and Uro Takako engage in a three-way battle, according to the raw scans. This development was hinted at in the previous chapter, but it goes above and beyond what was expected.
Since Yuta’s return after the Shibuya Arc, readers have been curious about the secret behind Rika’s re-emergence, and it would seem that Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 177 finally addresses the issue.
Uro Takako reveals in the final chapter that the reincarnated sorcerers had regrets that they wanted to atone for in their second lives. Her Cursed Technique allowed her to manipulate the sky by transforming it into a surface. She used it to target Yuta, who reminded her of Fujiwara clan members.
They were, however, cut short by Ishigori Ryu’s Granite Blast. Yuta dashed to Ryu’s location and engaged him in close combat.

He doesn’t have any overwhelming regrets like Uro does, but he considers stagnancy and normalcy to be his biggest regret.
Ryu revels in his fight with Yuta, even referring to him as the dessert, which ties in with his constant use of food metaphors. Due to his enormous reserve of Curse Energy, he notes that fighting the latter is like going up against a water tank.
Yuta also mentions Ryu’s Curse Energy, which has a high and explosive output. Uro soon interrupts them, reflecting Ryu’s attacks by using the Sky as a reflective surface.
Ishigori notices Yuta’s signs of fatigue, indicating that defeating so many opponents in a row has finally begun to deplete his reserves. With the fight between the three having devolved into an all-out brawl, Yuta observes that neither Uro nor Ryu seemed perfectly willing to harm the civilian populations whom Rika was protecting.
After Yuta said goodbye to Rika in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, readers were surprised to see her again in the Itadori Execution Arc. Akutami offered no explanation, even going so far as to portray it as completely normal. The first hint that Rika’s reappearance is a mystery comes in Jujutsu Kaisen.
It’s unclear how the Sendai timeline connects to the Tokyo No. 1 Colony timeline, but Yuta appears to be unaware of the point-transfer rule. The official release of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 177 on Sunday, March 6 should clear things up.
