PUBG Mobile India has been banned in the country ever since September 2020. The Government of India took the step following heightened tensions with China following the Galwan valley incident. PUBG Mobile has been trying to launch in India during New Year but that was thwarted. PUBG Mobile tried to launch in March 2021 but the Government of India has not yet removed the ban. However, there are now increased speculations that PUBG Mobile India is working very hard to comeback in the country.

In the latest job postings on Linkedin, PUBG Corp has posted job openings for Investment and Strategy Analyst. In the past, PUBG Corp had released some updates about new hirings on Linkedin. However, there is a big update regarding the Directors of PUBG Corp. In a report on AFK Gaming, Kumar Krishnan Iyer and Hyunil Sohn have been registered as the directors of PUBG India Private Limited.

During the India Gaming Conference, Hyunil Sohn, without promising the time and date, had given an update. In that he said, “We care about the Indian market greatly and also that’s how I get to know you and get to know friends in the Indian gaming industry now. So definitely, we will work hard to make it happen.”

PUBG Kr to stop functioning in India

In a major blow, PUBG Mobile has stated that from June 2021, PUBG Mobile Kr will not be available to gamers outside of the region of South Korea or Japan.

In an official post, it stated, “From 2021/05/01, users out of Korea or Japan who log in with KRJP build accounts cannot settle the payment in KRJP build. This application and this service will be used only from Japan and the Republic of Korea. We shall be able to determine your area of use by any reasonable method, such as your IP address. From 2021/05/01, users out of Korea or Japan who log in with KRJP build account might find network troubles. From 2021/06/30, users out of Korea or Japan who log in with KRJP build account cannot log in anymore.”

In this period, an addition of a new clause was made in the Terms and Conditions under the Prohibitions and Disclaimers section. PUBG Mobile Kr was immensely popular among Indian gamers for the wide range of items available. This development is a huge setback for streamers and Youtubers who shifted to the Korean version.
