The Esports Federation of India launched the National Esports Championship 2023 (NESC) on March 15, 2023, as a virtual event. The competition features 275 top Esports athletes from India, who will battle it out across four gaming titles including CS: GO, Dota 2, Tekken 7, and eFootball 2023. The winners will represent India at the 15th edition of the World Esports Championship (WEC) in Iasi, Romania. The event is a significant platform for gamers to showcase their skills and is an opportunity to gain recognition for their talent on a global level. The NESC and WEC competitions will undoubtedly draw in a vast audience of gaming enthusiasts. India starts National Esports Championship 2023

The National Esports Championship 2023 in India has created history by including an all-women CS: GO event for the first time at the World Esports Championship. The event will feature two teams with 11 players. The tournament will host a total of 275 participants competing across four gaming titles including CS: GO, Dota 2, Tekken 7, and eFootball 2023. The majority of the athletes will compete in CS: GO, with 21 teams consisting of 127 athletes. Dota 2 will have six teams with 33 athletes participating. Meanwhile, the single-player titles, Tekken 7 and eFootball 2023 will feature 72 and 32 athletes, respectively.

The qualified teams for titles such as CS: GO and Dota 2 will participate in the Asia Regionals tournament scheduled between May and June of this year. On the other hand, players that qualify for the single-player titles will be granted direct entry into the tournament’s global finals. The 15th edition of WEC has a massive prize pool of $500,000 or INR 4.12 Crore, which is the biggest in the tournament’s history. The tournament will also be the largest edition with a record 130 countries participating. The finals of WEC 15 will take place between August 24 and September 4, 2023.

Players are eagerly anticipating the WEC 15 tournament as it provides a massive platform for them to showcase their skills and win recognition for their talent globally. The NESC and WEC competitions are expected to attract a vast audience of gaming enthusiasts from all around the world.
