In a new teaser video, Mysterious Apex Legends character from Rampart’s past appears:

Like many other characters, Rampart was introduced to Apex through a Stories from the Outlands trailer that revealed the deeper narrative behind her decision to participate in the Apex Games. And in her case, the plot centres on an attack on her by the crew of a person only known as “Big Sister,” who also set fire to her mod shop. However, Big Sister is still around and is still interested in Rampart, unlike many characters whose motivation for participating in the games has been proven to be pointless.

Rampart is in her shop when a familiar face stops by in the new lore video, which was created by lilakey (who also created the Aftershock Wave R-301 skin with input from streamer LuluLuvely). Francis, who participated in the fire that destroyed Rampart’s former store in the first episode of Stories from the Outlands, has returned with an invitation from Big Sister to re-join the crew.

The Sisters and Rampart actually have a lot of history together, both good and bad. Rampart immediately dismisses the idea, and the two engage in verbal sparring over who is better at making weapons. However, one of season 16’s unlockable transition screens revealed that the Nemesis AR was a creation of The Sisters and that Big Sister and her crew were now a fully licenced weapons manufacturer.

While Rampart has been credited in the game’s lore for creating many of the reactive weapon skins that players earn for completing a seasonal battle pass. Rampart claims that the Nemesis was her original idea, despite the fact that she was never quite able to figure it out, and Francis teases her about it.

Rampart is still adamantly opposed to the people who torched her previous shop, and Francis leaves with one last shot at her waning fortunes and the dwindling business to her mod shop.

Due to The Sisters’ ongoing involvement and allusion, particularly to the enigmatic Big Sister, the interaction in Apex is interesting. Players only catch a glimpse of her with her long red hair and distinctive mask with a crack under one eye at the end of Rampart’s Stories from the Outlands, and it is assumed that she is the masked character there.
