The PlayStation 5 was released in 2020 and has since been the best-selling console in the world. One cool thing about PlayStation products is that the controllers can be connected to a PC. This gives more value to these controllers. Of course, PCs usually require a mouse and keyboard, but it’s nice to mix things up from time to time. There are two broad ways to connect a PlayStation 5 controller to a PC. Let’s take a look at both of these. USE A USB PORT :

The easiest way to connect a PlayStation 5 controller to a PC is by using the USB Type-C port on the controller and the USB port on the PC. It only requires a USB cable, which most readers should already have.

THE WIRELESS OPTION

If the objective is to go wireless, then a USB port, of course, won’t work. The PlayStation 5 controller has a Bluetooth option. The same steps are required here when connecting other devices to the PC via Bluetooth. Here’s a quick reminder of what it looks like.

  1. Firstly open the Settings app on PC. You will see the Bluetooth and devices section or the Devices section. Click either.
  2. Then click on ‘Add Device’, which can be seen at the top.
  3. Here, the Bluetooth option will pop up, and you can search for devices.
  4. You can now access pairing mode by pressing the PlayStation and Share buttons simultaneously on the PlayStation 5 controller. There is illumination around the touch pad. Once they burn, you’ll know the pairing is done.
  5. There should be a pop-up called Wireless Controller. Click on it, and finally the connection will be done.

Readers should note that the PlayStation 5 controller is not ideal for PC. This is a comparison of the controller to the Xbox Wireless Controllers, not the keyboard and mouse. Of course, Xbox is a Microsoft product, so it should come as no surprise that the two work better. That doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s still quite impressive that a PlayStation 5 controller can be used on PC.

A PC offers many great esports games that are not available on PlayStation 5. Many avid gamers are also used to consoles, so it’s great to have the option of sticking with a controller for PC. PC gamers who aren’t used to controllers can also get some practice on familiar games on PC before playing the game on PlayStation 5.
