Excessive use of cheats and exploits has made GTA Online a bad experience for many, despite multiple attempts to crack down on the bugs. With the latest surprise, however, the developers have addressed major security concerns and other bugs.
Since last year, hackers have found a way to kick players from games or even corrupt data and impact the function of PCs. Rockstar Games brought significant changes to its anti-cheat system to protect players.
This update made invite-only lobbies more secure, but it wasn’t enough to completely seal off hackers. A day after the update went live, community members still slammed the developers for hacks hampering the gameplay experience. The latest update for the game takes more security measures against players who are cheating in the game and also addresses several bugs.

Rockstar Games rolled out a surprise update for players on February 28, handling several community-requested issues. The developers also “implemented a new data protocol” that will help them improve the overall security of network sessions and fix crashing on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players are no longer required to worry about a bug that resulted in being told they must complete the prologue to access the game.
According to Tez2, the GTA V patch will be roughly around 1GB or 400 MB. Here are the full patch notes.
