Rockstar recently faced a massive leak when in-game development videos of GTA 6 were leaked. Now, according to a report from Eurogamer, the 17-year-old suspect has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

City of London detective inspector Michael O’Sullivan said in a statement, “The 17-year-old who appeared at Highbury Corner Youth Court on 24th September has pleaded guilty to breaching his bail conditions and not guilty to computer misuse.”

GTA 6 in-game footage leaked

The prosecutor said that the suspect hacked into the companies using a phone and was “holding them to ransom” to get hold of their software, reports Bloomberg Law. The suspect has been charged with two counts of break of bail conditions. Besides, he has also been charged with two counts of computer misuse.

The judge moved to the case to a higher court where the hearing will take place on a similar matter sometime in the future. On September 18, the gaming world stood still and witnessed the biggest leak in history unfold with over 90 videos and images leaked online. These clips include detailed gameplay mechanics of the game.

Rockstar is extremely disappointed

The hacker was soon arrested by the City of London police. Rockstar addressed the issue and confirmed that the footage was in fact of GTA 6 and the developers didn’t want to share the new this way.

Other than these comments about the data breach, Rockstar didn’t give away any other information the game or publicly comment on the case and investigation going on regarding the hack.
