According to a survey released by Sensor Tower, a data analytics business, Garena Free Fire is the most downloaded game in December.

With close to 24 million instals in December 2021, Garena Free Fire from Garena was the most downloaded smartphone game worldwide, up 28.2 percent from December 2020. India, with around 26% of all downloads, and Brazil, with 12%, were the countries with the most app instals during this time period. With 21.6 million downloads last month, Psyonix’s Rocket League SideSwipe was the second most downloaded mobile game in the globe. The United States had the highest percentage of Rocket League Sideswipe instals (27%) followed by Mexico (5.9%). The top five most downloaded smartphone games were Subway Surfers, Poppy Rope Game, and Roblox.

The global mobile games market generated 4.9 billion downloads in December 2021, up 1.8 percent year over year on the App Store and Google Play. With 717.4 million instals, or 14.8 percent of all downloads globally, India was the leading market for global game downloads. The United States finished in second with over 9% of all downloads, followed by Brazil with 8.2%.

The game download rankings listed above are estimates based on Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform. These figures for App Store and Google Play downloads are for the month of December.
