G2 Esports, formerly known as Gamers2, is a Spanish professional esports organization currently located in Berlin, Germany. The organization was founded in Spain on 24 February 2014 as Gamers2 by former League of Legends pro Carlos “Ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago and investor Jens Hilgers. Later the organization rebranded as G2 Esports on 15 October 2015. G2 Esports has teams competing in various games like League of Legends, Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and iRacing.
AORUS, Logitech G, AOC, Secretlab, Red Bull, BMW, Aim Lab, Adidas and Ralph Lauren joined the team along its journey and are its proud sponsors. The team is currently managed by Maik Löffler and Ocelate is still connected to the organization as its CEO.
G2 Esports first entered the Valorant scene by signing former CS:GO player Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho as the team’s captain on 16 June 2020. Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski, Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi, Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks and David “Davidp” Prins were signed in the next few months to complete the team. After losing to Heretics in the semis they decided to bench Davidp and Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt joined the team in January 2021. But after not getting results for quite some time zeek, ardiis and paTiTek were released. The team finally signed nukkye, AvovA and keloqz in June 2021.
