Season 7 of Fortnite is almost over, and Epic Games has announced a massive finale event called Operation Sky Fire to conclude the alien invasion. After the previous season of Fortnite ended with little fanfare, Epic Games announced that live finale events would return at the end of Season 7, where players from all over the world could join forces to witness the next chapter of the game’s storey.

The epic event, known as Operation Sky Fire, bridged the gap between Season 7 and the upcoming Season 8, as Doctor Slone of the Imagined Order finally carried out her plan to destroy the alien invaders with an explosive attack. Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite Season 7’s live finale event, Operation Sky Fire, as well as how to catch up if you weren’t able to participate in-game.

Fortnite Operation Sky Fire recap

If you couldn’t log into Fortnite during the Operation Sky Fire event, or simply preferred to watch rather than play, there are plenty of streamers who took part in the event who have VODs or breakdowns of the epic Season 7 finale. Big names in the Fortnite community, such as SypherPK, Ali-A, and LoserFruit, all streamed the event live on their Twitch or YouTube channels, where you can re-watch the videos of those live broadcasts. Other creators, such as ‘Top5Gaming,’ also shared their own footage of the event, which can be found below for easy viewing.

For the majority of Fortnite Season 7, players assisted Doctor Slone of the Imagined Order in gathering intelligence and laying traps for the alien invaders, who were flying around the sky in UFOs and abducting players into the Mothership. The aliens abducted Corny Complex, home to the Imagined Order’s underground base, after destroying Coral Castle and Slurpy Swamp. Slone, of course, was dissatisfied, and she finally put her plans into action.

Slone had planted bombs on the abducted parts of Corny Complex, which could be used to destroy the Mothership, according to teasers for Operation Sky Fire. Players were able to fly through the air and observe the event as it unfolded. Now that the event is over, Fortnite has gone into hibernation until Season 8 arrives. According to leaks, this could last around seven hours, similar to the previous ‘black hole,’ which rendered the game unplayable for a short period of time.
