Many Fortnite players came across a new issue that comes with a message saying “Failed to Download Asset Keychain”. In this article, we will tell you how to fix the Downloading Keychain error permanently. This issue was first seen after the release of patch 19.30 Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 in February.

Fortnite is among the most played battle royale games across the globe and has a very active gaming community. Many issues start annoying players every now and then, but this one could be more frustrating as it leads to the game crashing.

This error occurs when players try to start the game or log in to the game, and the system fails to download the essential resources due to an underlying problem. This prevents them from having a good gaming experience.

How to Fix the Downloading Keychain Error?

Checking Status of Fortnite Servers

When players come across the Downloading Keychain error in the game, they should first check if the game servers are working fine. To do so, they can visit the Official Server Status page by Epic Games. If the servers are “operational,” then the problem could be at the player’s end.

Uninstall and re-install the game

The next thing players can try is to re-install Fortnite. Firstly, uninstall the game from the device. After that, restart the device to clean any temporary cache files. Finally, re-install the game and log in to Epic Games account to start playing.

Switch Internet Connection

Sometimes ISP (Internet Service Provider) could be the cause behind the game not working properly and leading to the error. So, a simple solution to solve that problem is to switch to a different Internet connection.

Check for Updates

If players have tried all the solutions but the game is still crashing, freezing, or not loading, then the best thing to do is wait. Players should wait until Fortnite solves the problem and releases a patch to fix it. Once an update is available, install it and enjoy playing.
