Fortnite will be a part of the upcoming Olympic Esports Week, according to the International Olympic Committee and the Singapore National Olympic Council. The International Shooting Sport Federation will support Fortnite’s entry into the competition.

The Olympic Esports Week will not feature Fortnite’s battle royale mode, despite it being a staple of its international esports competitions. The “ISSF sport shooting island” in Fortnite, a specially made Fortnite Creative island centered on sport shooting, was made by the organizers of Olympic Esports Week. If you need more information about Fortnite added to the Olympic Esports Week lineup, then read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.

Given that all other titles for the Olympic Esports Week were revealed in advance, Fortnite’s inclusion this close to the event is a bit unexpected. Even so, the addition of Fortnite brings the total number of games to 10, which also includes sailing, archery, and racing games.

Fortnite’s inclusion is another unexpected feature, mainly because the game isn’t typically known for a realistic shooting experience. The Fortnite map-making tools are robust, but it’s still unclear how well they’ll be able to simulate the actual sport. But the participation of Fortnite esports players in the competition is very intriguing.

The IOC claims that the Fortnite Creative shooting range competition will “test sharpshooters’ target-aiming accuracy and watch them navigate the in-game environment as they compete to win an Olympic Esports Series.” In addition, Fortnite’s participation in Olympic Esports Week will be a closed competition with no qualifiers.

The esports competition, which was developed by the International Olympic Committee in collaboration with video game publishers, began its qualifying period in March. The first-ever Olympic Esports Week will take place in Singapore the following month, in June. The series has invited 12 competitive Fortnite Champion Series players to participate. The ISSF has developed its own Fortnite Island specifically for the challenge that will be designed to resemble the Olympic sport shooting range. The accuracy of the players’ target aiming will be evaluated.

In addition to Just Dance, Grand Turismo, Tennis Clash, and Virtual Regatta, Fortnite is now available. The Olympic Esports Week game selection has drawn harsh criticism from the esports community, with detractors pointing out that the choices are, at best, dubious.
