Everything you need to know about Himmelmatt Expo, the new map in Modern Warfare 2:

For MW2 players, the availability of new multiplayer maps at the start of season two was a little underwhelming. One of them, Dome, is a remake of MW3 from 2011, and Valderas Museum was a map that was first made available in the beta and has just recently been included in the game. But at this point, a completely new map experience is about to launch. Here is all the information you need to know about Himmelmatt Expo, the newest multiplayer map for MW2.

Although the new map for MW2’s Season Two Reloaded update is a snow map, there isn’t much snow to be found there because it is based in an event centre, much like one that used to host an MLG event in the past. Get out your winter coat and get ready to deploy to the idyllic corporate retreat nestled in the Swiss Alps known as the Himmelmatt Expo, according to Activision. Attendees for the upcoming Oil & Gas Summit 2023 will have to wait until after combat between SpecGru and KorTac forces breaks out on the site.

Many players are hopeful that the medium-sized MW2 map will perform well enough to be added to the CDL and Ranked Play map rotation because it lends itself well to game modes like Hardpoint, Control, and Search and Destroy. Activision claims that there are four main regions on the map:

  • Event Center
  • Main Roads
  • Restaurant
  • Pool & Sauna

Activision stated that the Congress Hall event centre, which houses reception services, a Conference Room, the Lounge, and a Terrace, takes up nearly half of the map. The building has two levels: the main floor, which connects the reception desks on either side of the structure and passes through the Terrace, and the lower floor, which leads to the Conference Room.

The map also features a sizable outdoor area where players can “use various trucks and vehicles here for cover as needed,” as well as main roads that are “scattered with parked vehicles.” The restaurant, according to Activision, is a less significant but still significant portion of the map. It is home to several crucial game objectives, including the first hill in Hardpoint and numerous flanks and tactical height areas.

You guessed it—a swimming pool—is located in the map’s “pool and sauna” area. The sauna, however, “offers a somewhat safer route when travelling outdoors, considering its position to the side of the map and the squat buildings providing solid cover,” claims Activision. On March 15 at 12pm CT, Himmelmatt Expo will be playable in MW2 when Season Two Reloaded goes live.
