There is still much to do in Fortnite Chapter Four season three, even though there is only one month left. This includes making full use of the ODM Gear from the Attack on Titan crossover. However, it appears that there is a fresh bug that prevents players from building after activating the ODM Gear in a game. Those playing in Zero Build mode won’t be affected, but it’s still a frustrating problem that probably affects hundreds of thousands of players.

Thankfully, Epic Games alerted developers to the problem on May 8. The studio also provided a list of several potential fixes for the issue and cautioned that removing the AOT ODM Gear before the building’s return could render it inoperable for the duration of the game. Epic Games is looking into it after Fortnite’s ODM Gear destroys a building:

The building mechanic may return if players try switching weapons and swinging once more while wearing ODM Gear after noticing the problem, according to the Fortnite developers. Before performing those actions, be careful not to drop the ODM Gear because doing so could make the mechanic disappear for the remainder of the lobby regardless of what you do.

In Fortnite, the ground, chests, and Scout Regiment Footlockers are dispersed across the map and contain the ODM Gear and Thunder Spears. The Scout Regiment Footlocker is a brown wooden chest that bears the Wings of Freedom emblem from Attack on Titan. You can grapple up in the air and use the built-in swords to attack your opponents from below if you have the Omni-Directional Mobility (ODM) Gear worn by the Scouts.

You receive another aerial boost after attacking your opponents, allowing you to either steer clear of them or prepare a new attack. While the Thunder Spears is a deadly rocket launcher that can not only destroy protected structures but also deal heavy damage to enemies.

The Battle Pass now lets you unlock Eren Jaeger’s skin in addition to the ODM Gear and Thunder Spears. Mikasa Ackermann, Captain Levi, and Eren Jaeger are also present, and you can locate them in the Item Shop. To unlock Eren’s skin, however, as well as other cosmetic items like a pickaxe and back bling, you must complete a series of challenges in Chapter 4, Season 2.

While working on a fix, Epic did not provide a timeframe for when it should go live. The majority of Fortnite bugs of this size are fixed within days, if not hours, of being discovered. Since this particular problem has the potential to break the game, it would be in Epic’s best interest to find a quick solution. Use AOT’s ODM Gear without worrying about negative effects in the Zero Build mode if you want to play on an even playing field in the interim.
