The chapter begins with Jiwoo receiving a phone call from Mir’s Chairwoman. Mir’s awakeners are mostly telepathic communicators who can control spirit beasts. Jiwoo is paid a visit by E-Seul and her grandmother, who turns out to be the chairwoman of Mir, with whom he had just spoken on the phone. The chairwoman, as expected of Mir’s awakeners, immediately falls in love with Jiwoo’s cat, who surrounds her.

Only Kaydan and Curtin, to her surprise, do not get off on her. The chairwoman believes it is due to Jiwoo’s long-standing telepathic communication with the two cats. It’s because Kaydan and Curtin aren’t real animals, unbeknownst to her.
The chairwoman then explains why she has come. She was taken aback by Jiwoo’s ability to defeat the beast of the Loutrain Family. The Loutrain family is regarded as the pinnacle of animal telepathic communication. Their most powerful creations, however, were defeated by an awakener who does not specialise in animal telepathy.
Mir’s chairwoman, deeply impressed by Jiwoo’s abilities, wishes to teach him everything she knows about communicating with animals. Jiwoo, on the other hand, is hesitant to accept the offer.
Jiwoo is terrified of discovering how animals feel. When the chairwoman hears this, she looks down at the cat on her lap and feels its pain.
