Elden Ring has become one of 2022’s most popular games, but how many players are actually playing the game? From Software’s latest title has made ripples among both die-hard Souls fans and first-time players. Elden Ring has received some rave reviews.

In fact, the response has been so good that the game developer Bandai Namco gave developers a pay hike as a reward. Let’s get into the details.

Elden Ring Steam player base

Well, there is no perfect way of knowing how many people are playing a game across all platforms. However, Steam Charts provide accurate figures for the number of Steam players. As per Steam Charts, as of June 7, 2022, Elden Ring averaged 77,048 players on PC. Although, the player base hit the 952,523 mark in March.

Well, these numbers only show the players that are playing the game on PC and do not show the number of players enjoying the game on the console. FromSoftware is yet to reveal exact sales of the game, but some data available offers some insights.

Elden Ring sales

As per the stats from Bandai Namco, the game sold 13.4 million copies as of March 31, outshining Cyberpunk 2077. According to stats from GamesIndustry.biz, we also know that 41% of the copies were purchased on PlayStation, 29% were on Xbox, and 30% were bought on PC.

It means there are well over 9 million players who enjoy Elden Ring on console and at least 4 million own the PC versions. However, the game is expected to witness a surge in sales throughout 2022, especially during the holiday season, so the numbers can grow even more.
