The 25-year-old veteran revealed on his stream that DRX allegedly tried to sign superstar jungler Kanvi as an incentive for breakout midlane star Zeka to re-sign with the organization.When DRX was not able to secure Kanvi’s services for the following year, Zeka decided to test out in free agency. In response, the organization issued a statement assuring fans that they “made it a priority to renew contracts with the five current players.” He also said that he never suggested any outside players to the current roster when negotiating terms.

When the global off-season period began, all of DRX’s players entered free agency as their contracts expired after Worlds, and several pieces of the team began signing with various organizations. Superstar AD Carry Deft signed with DWG KIA, while Kingen and Zeka signed with Hanwha Life Esports.It was a disappointing ending for many fans who thought this Cinderella team could continue to run together as fan favorites in 2023.

The problem, however, is that other top League of Legends organizations have already started making their moves towards acquiring some of the stars from DRX’s former roster. Due to the 2022 World title, the agencies representing these players are demanding better contracts for their clients.

With three out of five players from the 2022 roster gone, DRX will once again need to rebuild themselves as they go hunting for it. The magic they managed to capture in a bottle last October.If DRX can’t reach the pinnacle of the league again, they can still be proud of having one of the greatest runs in esports history under their belt.
