From the seating area, Goku yells to Vegeta to get down. Whis points out that not only is the air hot, but it is becoming thin, too. Beerus yells at Champa, but Champa points out that there is a mechanism to circulate the air in the chamber. However, Magetta’s burning the oxygen faster than it can be circulated. Goku tells Vegeta that if he doesn’t end the match quickly, he will be unable to breathe. Vegeta insists he does not need Goku’s advice.

Magetta resumes his assault of lava spit on Vegeta. Vegeta is able to teleport out of harm’s way several times. Vegeta sees an opening above Magetta’s head and goes in for the attack, but just as Vegeta is about to strike, a plume of superheated steam is ejected. Vegeta is thrown back, almost hitting the aerial boundary, but is able to use his ki to avoid elimination at the last second.

Vegeta, having run out of options, begins to power up a massive Galick Gun attack. In retaliation, Magetta begins to power up, as well, making the arena even hotter. Magetta is giving off so much heat, in fact, that the spectators are feeling it even through the barrier.

Vegeta finishes charging and fires off his blast at Magetta. The blast hits Magetta directly in the head but seems to be having little effect. Magetta retaliates and pushes Vegeta’s attack back with his lava spit. Vegeta relents and moves out of the way. Magetta fires another lava attack, this time a large enveloping disc that obscures Vegeta’s line of sight. Vegeta cuts through it, but on the other side, he sees Magetta coming toward him quickly with a club made from the hardened lava. Magetta smashes Vegeta with the club and sends him hurtling towards the ground outside the fighting stage.

At first, it appears Vegeta has saved himself from elimination. Upon close inspection, it seems one of Vegeta’s feet may be touching the ground. The referee rushes over to inspect, and after careful analysis, determines Vegeta is safe. He shows everyone that Vegeta has in fact landed on a tiny piece of the stage. Vegeta returns to the stage to continue his battle with Magetta but is extremely angry with himself for being saved by a rule. Vegeta powers up to the point where the aerial barrier cracks and is completely destroyed. Now that Vegeta can breathe again, he is sure he will easily win the match.

Next, Vegeta begins to power up his most powerful attack, the Final Flash. He outstretches his arms and legs, and massive amounts of ki begin to radiate from his body. The spectators are astonished at the level of power Vegeta is giving off as he continues to charge up the Final Flash. Finally, Vegeta fires the Final Flash attack at Magetta. Magetta attempts to retaliate with the Laval Spit once again, but this time it isn’t able to push back Vegeta’s attack at all. The Final Flash cuts right through Magetta’s attack and strikes him in the head, pushing him back to the edge of the stage.

Vegeta rushes in and tries to finish the fight with one more punch, but the punch does little to push Magetta back any further. Then, Vegeta screams and calls Magetta a piece of junk. Magetta looks shocked, and the stage beneath him shatters. Magetta goes flying back out of bounds, and Vegeta has won the match thanks to an insult.

Vegeta returns to the seating area and asks for water. Whis explains that Magetta and the Metalmans are physically strong but mentally weak. Even a small amount of badmouthing is difficult for them to deal with, Episode 36 ends with the revelation that the young Saiyan will be Vegeta’s next opponent
