In retaliation, Jōno kicks Kenji out of the car. Fortunately, Tanizaki activates his ability, Light Snow, and drags Jōno out of the vehicle to allow the others to escape. However, Jōno reveals that he had led them into a trap, setting them up to face Tetchō, the Hunting Dogs’ most formidable swordsman.

As Tetchō brandishes his sword, Kunikida rushes towards him, driving the car. However, Tetchō activates his ability, Plum Blossoms in Snow, and slices the car in half. In the ensuing battle, Tetchō fatally wounds Kenji and Tanizaki, leaving Kunikida to face him alone. Tetchō quickly extends his blade, preventing Kunikida from materializing anything.
