Bungie announced a new Destiny 2 showcase event for August, which will offer players a sneak peek of the future of Destiny 2 content. The content has continued to be strong, with Bungie releasing Season 18 last month, bringing the new Duality dungeon and much more.
However, after Destiny 2’s Witch Queen expansion content is going strong, enthusiasts are keen on knowing what major expansion is coming their way. The game publisher has announced a new Destiny 2 showcase event that will provide fans with a glimpse of the next expansion, Lightfall, among other content plans.
The Destiny 2 showcase event will happen on August 23, 2022. Bungie’s official Twitter account tweeted a short video with the caption reading “Witness what’s next.”

The video recaps crucial moments from the ongoing Light and Darkness Saga, which will conclude sometime in 2024 according to Bungie’s content roadmap. The video also shows the Witness from the Witch Queen expansion, along with other known characters such as Calus and Rhulk.
While Bungie hasn’t given out any specific details about the kind of content the showcase event will offer, there are some things fans can understand from 2021’s Witch Queen showcase.
